Sainik School

Sainik School Purulia, established in 1962, is a premier residential school dedicated to shaping young minds into future leaders and responsible citizens. Nestled amidst serene surroundings, the school offers a holistic education, blending rigorous academic programs with extensive co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The emphasis is on developing character, discipline, and a spirit of adventure, preparing cadets for successful careers in the armed forces and other walks of life.

The Chief Minister or the Education Minister of the state are among the members of the Board of Governors. An officer of the Ministry of Defence is nominated to supervise and co-ordinate the functioning of the school and functions as the Honorary Secretary of the Sainik Schools Society.

The school aims to prepare cadets to become capable leaders in the Armed Forces and responsible contributors to society.

The school is committed to developing leadership, self-confidence, teamwork, integrity, and a sense of responsibility while preparing cadets for the National Defence Academy and other professional careers.
