The scheme of establishing Sainik Schools was introduced in 1961 by the Ministry of Defence. In the first year, five Sainik Schools were established. Since then, several more Sainik Schools have been established in different states across the country. The schools were conceived to provide quality education in an environment that develops discipline, leadership, character and a spirit.

Vision

To provide high-quality public school education with a military bias, preparing cadets academically, physically, and mentally for entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA) and other officer training academies, while developing patriotic, disciplined, and responsible citizens to serve the nation.

Mission

All round development of cadets through various training processes in the field of academic, sports and co-curricular activities with special emphasis on inculcating sense of discipline, esprit-de-corps, optimism, patriotism, high moral values, persistent hard work and optimum use of available resources to prepare them for entry into Indian Armed Forces.
