Sainik School Kazhakootam

Sainik School Kazhakootam is a prestigious residential school located at Kazhakootam, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, and is administered under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Established in 1962, the school was founded as part of the Sainik School initiative to provide quality education along with discipline, leadership, physical fitness and a strong sense of responsibility among students.

The school initially began functioning at the Indian Army camp in Pangode, Thiruvananthapuram, on 20 January 1962. The foundation stone of the present campus was laid on 5 February 1962, and the school subsequently shifted to its Kazhakootam campus in 1964.

Spread across approximately 225 acres, the campus provides a spacious environment for academic learning, residential life, sports and co-curricular activities. The school follows the CBSE curriculum and provides education at the senior-secondary level, combining classroom education with a structured residential and disciplined lifestyle.
